This is the Swatantrya Jyoti Ram Naik had planned to install at Andaman Jail in honour of all the freedom fighters including Swatantryaveer V D Savarkar who were imprisoned at Andaman. Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar who preceded Ram Naik as a Petroleum Minister gave final touches to the project and had even invited Ram Naik for the inauguration. In reality what he did was an insult to all Indians. Naik discovered that Shri Aiyar did not only remove the quotations of Veer Savarkar but even had the guts to insult him by calling traitor. Nation-wide anger arose and agitations were held.
